Mallory Hutchings Tryon

Mallory was raised in the Seattle area and completed her bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in History Teaching and Art Education. While at BYU, Mallory was able to intern with the Walt Disney Company, study abroad in London, work with youth-in-custody, and conduct university-awarded research on British-Indian marriages in colonial India. Mallory graduated with a degree in History Teaching and Art Education and began teaching at Walden School of Liberal Arts in Utah. While teaching at Walden, she taught the IB history courses and led student expeditions in New York City, in Beijing, Guilin, and Shanghai, China, and summiting Mount Timpanogos. Mallory just moved to the Kansas City area after completing a master’s program in International Education Development at Columbia University Teachers College in New York City. At Sumner Academy of Arts and Science, Mallory is currently teaching Drawing & Design A and Drawing & Design B. She also serves on the Teacher Advisory Board for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City and on the Education Committee for the International Relations Council of Kansas City.
